Description
Patch cord, or patch cable is an electrical or fiber-optic cable used to connect ("patch") one electronic or optical device to another for signal routing. Patch cords connect different types of devices, such as a switch connected to a computer or a switch connected to a router.
Application
Patch cord have a wide range of uses, primarily connecting and adjusting device status in electronic circuits, configuring network wiring, and connecting different wires on terminal blocks. Depending on their application and form, jumpers can be electronic components or network cables.
Connecting Circuit Components:
They are used to connect two points on a printed circuit board (PCB) that are difficult to connect with copper foil, or to connect different circuits on the same board.
Adjusting Device Status:
For example, jumpers on a computer motherboard are used to set the master/slave relationship of a drive or clear CMOS data, thereby adjusting the device's operating state.
Function Switching and Testing:
By changing the jumper connection method, you can switch functions between different product levels or separate and connect circuits on a circuit board for testing.
